I am very disappointed by this product. I think it will works the day I have a schema and some explanations, but SainSmart give nothing!!!
The video is of bad definition and we see and understand nothing; you cannot see where the wires are connected; there is a music but no word to explain.
Some parts of the video are false: they used female to female wire in the joystick instead of female to male wires and you don't show the connections. H-bridge wires connections to the Arduino are not shown either
Really it is a shame!!!

No documentation. Youtube video is a joke, almost useless and not complete.
There is no documentation at all and the software not easy to understand.
Still trying to make my robot stand still, he shaking like Elvis right now and no track to follow to understand why and how to correct that.
Quality of what is in the box is very good. It's a shame to spoil that with such a bad support.

This is an awesome concept, simply not fully executed. The value proposition of this product is not the components you get, it's achieving the satisfaction of building something cool, without having to be an electrical engineer or spending 20 hours on it. I would pay more for that, it is worth something to me. Unfortunately what I received was missing two things: the components were not labelled, and there were no good instructions to be found online, and none in the box. The cumbersome instructions on the Sainsmart site pointed to an user's instructable, which pointed back to the Sainsmart site. I used both of them and still did not get it done fast enough to not lose interest. You can say, "who cares, we already got your money", but this means I will not be back to buy upgrades for this one, or other robots. I will not be recommending this to other people either. I am the perfect target for this product, I am interested in this, have money to spend in it, but lack time and technical expertise. I am not satisfied.
Code for Project:
1. The wires are about 70mm long. Wires and capacitor can be connected to any electrode.
2. The T-plug needs to be soldered as shown in the diagram below. See the second diagram for more details. Slide the heat shrink tubing over the top of the wires after soldering and apply heat. The red wire needs to be connected to the VCC which is on the L298N and the black wire needs to be connected to the GND.
Positive electrode -> VCC
Negative electrode -> GND
5V -> 5V

IN2 -> D4
IN3 -> D5
IN4 -> D6
ENA -> D9
ENB -> D10

11.1V Li-Po battery is the best power source for the robot, but other types of batteries can be used. Ensure that the voltage of the battery is between 10V to 13V;
Use a 9V battery for the remote controller;
As not everyone solders the wires in the same way, if the wheels turn in the wrong direction swap the D3 and the D4 or the D5 and the D6;
After adjusting the robot so that it can stand up, try to control it with the remote controller. If it can go forward and go back normally but cannot turn, please swap D9 and D10.
