- Input Voltage:12V (3S lipo battery 11.1-12.4V)
- Output: 5V-5A,8V-4A,adj
- 6 pwm interfaces for 6 servos.
- 2 motors + 2 encoders
Power for servo must be 5V, high voltage may cause damage to servos. Be sure of connecting the anode and cathode correctly.
Had to order this to replace my original robotics shield that came with my 6 axis arm w/ remote bundle. I mistakenly applied 12v2a to the 5v5a side. The tantalum capacitor gave a little light show and it was all over in a flash. The replacement came in great time using Sainsmarts shipping offers. The shield performs well and is easy to use. It's very nice to have all the extra pinouts the Arduino Mega offers as well as a few added bonuses like designated pinouts for Bluetooth and nrf24l01. There is a 3 position slider switch I've yet to figure out it's purpose. From what I have seen and understand it's merely a miscellaneous use switch. The board has pinouts for 6 servos, supports 4 dc 12v motors and has an onboard power button. 4 potentiometers for fine adjustment to certain pins. The green plugin on the end is for 5v5a max. There is a diagram available for the pin descriptions of the dc motor and power pins here: http://wiki.sainsmart.com/index.php/101-20-108 Hope my review was helpful. Thanks for reading and have a great day making robots. :-)
some of the ports are labeled out of order from their coinciding ports on the arduino board
