SainSmart was founded in 2011 at a time when desktop fabrication tools were expensive, complex, and inaccessible to most makers. We believed that needed to change — and we built a company around that belief.
We started with open-source hardware: Arduino-compatible boards, sensors, relay modules, and Raspberry Pi accessories. The maker community responded immediately, and we grew fast.
From there, the path was clear. Makers didn't just want components — they wanted [red]complete fabrication tools[/red] they could actually afford. We launched our 3D printing line, then in 2018 introduced the Genmitsu CNC brand with the 3018 router, democratizing desktop CNC for a generation of makers worldwide.
Fifteen years later, we operate warehouses across the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia, ship to over 80 countries, and carry more than 700 products across CNC, 3D printing, laser engraving, and precision tools. The mission hasn't changed a bit.
