InstaBots are a series of experimental projects launched in Aug, 2014. Aiming to provide some of the most interesting open hardware kits with all the necessary components , we hope Makers of all skill levels can enjoy a sense of accomplishment and fun from the moment they open the box.
Very complicated ! No documentation. Youtube video is a joke, almost useless and not complete. There is no documentation at all and the software not easy to understand. Still trying to make my robot stand still, he shaking like Elvis right now and no track to follow to understand why and how to correct that. Quality of what is in the box is very good. It's a shame to spoil that with such a bad support.
This is an awesome concept, simply not fully executed. The value proposition of this product is not the components you get, it's achieving the satisfaction of building something cool, without having to be an electrical engineer or spending 20 hours on it. I would pay more for that, it is worth something to me. Unfortunately what I received was missing two things: the components were not labelled, and there were no good instructions to be found online, and none in the box. The cumbersome instructions on the Sainsmart site pointed to an user's instructable, which pointed back to the Sainsmart site. I used both of them and still did not get it done fast enough to not lose interest. You can say, "who cares, we already got your money", but this means I will not be back to buy upgrades for this one, or other robots. I will not be recommending this to other people either. I am the perfect target for this product, I am interested in this, have money to spend in it, but lack time and technical expertise. I am not satisfied.
