What is Annealing & Why is it Necessary?
Plastic products are placed in a heated liquid medium or hot air circulation box at a constant temperature for a period of time, and then slowly cooled to room temperature, using heat to accelerate the relaxation of macromolecules in the plastic, thus eliminating or reducing the residual stresses in the products after molding.
Eliminate the local stress concentration phenomenon produced by different cooling speeds during the cooling and curing process of plastic products.
That's what the FilaDryer E2 delivers — a professional-grade 2-in-1 annealing and drying solution specifically designed for Engineering Materials.

How to Anneal?
- Select the Temperature: Determine the right temperature based on the material.
- Control Heating Rate: Ensure the part is evenly heated.
- Maintain a Constant Temperature: Adjust the duration according to the size and material.
- Manage Cooling: Allow for gradual cooling or use controlled cooling for the best results.
Tips for Successful Annealing!
- Precise temperature control is essential to avoid overheating.
- Test with small models first to reduce trial-and-error costs.
- Allow for shrinkage, and adjust your design accordingly.
No More Worries about Safety?
Intelligent protection system, an alarm beep will sound if the temperature exceeds the preset value by 10°C or the machine continues to work improperly.
Temperature control, over-temperature will be disconnected, cooling will be restored.

FAQs
The basics you need to know about this FilaDryer E2
1. The maximum heating temperature of SUNLU FilaDryer E2 is up to 110 ℃, please carefully observe the current set parameters (such as filament type, heating temperature) is consistent with the actual need to dry the filament, to avoid too high a temperature leading to deformation of the filament (filament drying temperature, recommended product manuals or this product page of the filament spool data)
For example, if the machine is set to operate at ≥70°C, the temperature resistance of the spool of the filament you are using should be ≥70°C to avoid deformation of the spool.
2. If the product set working temperature ≥ 80 ℃, humidity detection module will be in a protective state (display humidity <10%) is a normal phenomenon, when the drying box temperature is reduced to 70 ℃, about 20H, humidity detection module automatically restore the original precision.

What do we need to know about the operation of the annealing function?
When using the annealing function (MO2 mode), although some filament annealing temperatures and times are provided in the product manual for reference, it is recommended to use the filament manufacturer's recommended temperatures and times for annealing due to the different characteristics of different manufacturers' filaments.
Can I touch the product while it is working?
Even though the product is protected in many places, the temperature of the outer surface of the product will be ≥55℃ if the set working temperature is ≥80℃.
To avoid burns, do not touch the enclosure/handle the oven while it is in operation (or take appropriate thermal protection measures, e.g., wear insulated gloves).
Is there anything else I can do to make the drying more effective?
In order to ensure the drying effect, please do not open the upper cover of the drying box during the operation. During the drying process, it is recommended to open the silicone plug of the filament outlet hole (to let the internal moisture fully discharged); after the drying process, it is recommended to plug the silicone plug tightly (to avoid the entry of external moisture).
Safety precautions you need to follow
- Do not place this product within the reach of children. Electrical safety should be observed during operation. Do not use this product near water, such as bathrooms, bathtubs, washbasins and other places where water is easily accessible.
- Please use the original power cord or a power cord that meets the safety certification requirements.
- When not using this product, please turn off the power to avoid sudden fire.
- During the working process of this product, please do not put the product on objects which are sensitive to temperature.
- Do not touch the heater or fan inside the box during the working process of this product to avoid burns. When drying filaments, the top cover of the drying box should be covered to avoid heat dissipation.
- Please do not block the internal air inlet and outlet to avoid abnormal heat accumulation.
- If the product malfunctions, please turn off the power and disconnect the power cord from the power outlet, then contact the after-sales support team (support@sainsmart.com).
