Ender-3 3D Printer

The Ender-3 is designed specifically for hobbyists on a limited budget. Our most affordable 3D printer, the Ender-3 boasts the same outstanding performance as the CR-10 in a compact, affordable package.

Home & School Use

Being an entry-level 3D printer, the kit is designed to invite imagination and innovation to children, students, and hobbyists. Its low cost expands its availability to school and home settings, while still providing a high-end print quality not found in low-cost printers!

Top Quality Control

The entire assembly consists mostly of only injection molding, CNC machined, and extrusion manufactured parts, ensuring reliable and consistent operation, matched with the quality for every user! The cartesian design, based on the CR-10, provides the same eloquent, robust, and precision construction ready for DIY assembly!

Full Filament Compatibility

The standard brass nozzle allows printing with most types of 1.75mm 3D filaments including PLA, ABS, PETG, and of course the renowned SainSmart flexible TPU filament.

Resume Print

If electrical power is lost, prints can be resumed from the last layer when powered back on, saving time and reducing wasted filament!

Without Clogging

Our patented MK-10 extruder design greatly reduces the risk of a clogged nozzle.

Fast Heating

A high-watt density hotbed provides rapid heating, reaching its operating temperature in 5 minutes or less!

Large Build Volume

The 8.7 x 8.7 x 9.8" (220x220x250mm) build area allows you to create large and complex models.

Tips about Levelling

If you happened to receive a severely bowed bedplate after unboxing, please contact us immediately for a replacement. If it is a slight curve (±0.2mm), you could manage to fix it through the following steps.

  • Adjust the bed step-by-step according to the User Manual (see page 20). If the central part is uneven while the corners are flat, please try to level the bed on each of the four corners meticulously.
  • After finishing the steps on the manual, if it is still uneven, please try to print by adding raft in CURA.

My second Ender3

Bought my first Ender3 two or three years ago. As a newbie to 3d printing, I of course read myself crazy with all the "How To Make Your Ender3 do magic tricks". I did several of the upgrades. I did see some improvement with a couple of the upgrades. However, this printer will see no upgrades at this time. I am going to print with it as it is. So far it is printing fine for the work I do, without spending another dime.

This is my second 3D Printer. The first one is a Monoprice MPSelect Mini It was easy to operate and with fairly consistent results. I wanted to get a larger printer but one that didn't break the bank. After reading the reviews, checking the facebook groups and reading online reviews I decided to purchase the Ender-3. Since I repair machines and have assembled a vast array of products so far in my life I was not deterred by this product being somewhat of a kit. The package arrived with no damage and upon opening the first thing noticed was the care taken in packing. Anti static bag for the control/lcd. All the screws and small parts were in bags and labeled (including at least one extra of each screw). All the tools that would be needed for assembly were also included. Instructions were fairly clear and concise. The documentation on the memory card was very well thought out. The only thing amiss was one of the table adjusting knobs had unscrewed in shipping. (no big deal since the table needs leveled prior to printing. With a clean level work surface, plenty of lighting and good music, I set to work. Prior to assembling remember to inventory all parts, check the side of the power supply for the right incoming voltage (it is set to 220v, if you are using 110v then move the switch) have a clean level work surface, DO NOT tighten rails etc. until this is all fitted together, then snug up all parts, check for binding, and then continue tightening. Have the z-axis threaded rod loose in the coupling, have the threaded brass receiver (by the feed drive) loose. Once the x-axis rail/assembly is on the side rails and moves smoothly then tighten the threaded rod in the coupling and snug the two screws that secure the threaded brass receiver. Turn the threaded rod gently to again make sure for free movement but no side play. Check the bed carrier rollers for play on the v grooves. Mine needed to be adjusted because there was way too much play. You will have to loosen the nylock nut up a little and then move the large hex shaped standoff either clockwise or counter clockwise depending if the rollers are to tight or to loose. Again check for smooth gliding. Once the wires to the control are hooked up to the various drives DO NOT spin the drive shafts fast. There is a possibility of generating a voltage and back feeding the control board and damaging it. Last but not least... Level the table... This is one of the most important steps. Take your time and check all 4 corners repeatedly until a piece of paper just drags when pulled out. The version of Cura that it comes with is an older one so just download the latest version from their website. Follow the instructions in the setup guide (which is on the memory card included with the printer) for entering the numbers in the machine section of Cura, import your design and have fun printing. Little tweaks here and there and trial and error... I use PLA because there really is no noxious fumes and it is relatively inexpensive, but I have noticed subtle differences in the temps etc that I have to use between different filament manufactures. Have fun, look on FB for Ender groups or just on the internet. There is a wealth of information on this printer style and people seem willing to help each other.

Easy Enough For Any Beginner

Took about an hour to assemble using a YouTube video. Leveling was a trick but have the hang of it now. Really enjoy learning to print.

$199 on Lightning Deal

Bought this Sainsmart x Creality Ender 3 on a Amazon Prime Lightning Deal for $199. My first 3D Printer. Zero issues assembling it but I did my homework prior. There is a huge community behind this printer and the knowledgeable resources online are endless. Glad I chose the Sainsmart brand as the quality is great. I haven't had any of the common problems associated with the other manufacturers Ender 3. My Sainsmart Ender 3 has worked great from print one. When you get it print the test dog. Then download the latest version of Cura online, (dont use the Cura that comes on the included micro sd card). Then go to Youtube and watch a video from a guy named San Tube on Cura settings for Ender 3 and put those settings in your Cura. I have been using these settings and prints are coming out very good. I don`t have any prior experience with 3D Printers or Slicing Software but its all very easy to figure out if you take advantage of the endless knowledge base online. Very glad I got this Sainsmart x Creality Ender 3.Update: 7 October- Still working great. Zero issues. Levels easily and prints great. Have been printing everyday. Great community behind this printer. Didn't need them but I have bought new wheels and better bed leveling springs but have not installed them yet. Going to get the new upgraded glass bed next. Have seen this printer on the Lighning Deals in Industrial and Scientific Department many more times since I bought it. Wait for it, seems like its on there every few weeks.

Hard to beat the price

Assembly was an easy 1 1/2 hrs, The SD card supplied couldnt read the Test Dog file, but could be seen on a computer so all files were copied to a blank card and then everything worked well. Very pleased with the quality of the unit, the build quality of the prints and the low cost.

Mechanical Engineer by trade

I've been using 3D printers for the past 6 years or so.I rarely review products.First of all, customer support is superb, my unit arrived with a dead power supply. They sent an in-depth troubleshooting video and ultimately sent me a new PSU, from China, in 3 days. Awesome!I am still tuning the 3D printer, I would expect to spend $20 on a glass bed, and $10 on upgraded springs. So factor that into your total cost. The prints thus far have come out very well, I have been getting a lot of stringing and have had to increase the retraction to 8mm, and retraction speed to 75 mm/s.Overall, great product and support, glad to see these home printers are inexpensive and worthwhile. Thanks SainSmart!
